His album “Mainstream”, published in 2015 has unpaired genres, affinities and definitions. Calcutta has marked a border-line in the meaning of independent music, starting as an outsider, as a cult artist, with an unconventional path in the established (oppure conventional) music business, catching an always growing curiosity towards himself. Thanks to the contagiuos melodies of his songs, that made him an irresistible phenomenon. His pop writing has no equals in Italy and the transversal interest from his public, press and social networks are the constant evidence. A success witnessed also from Gold record award for his Album “Oroscopo”, one of the most on-aired song in 2016, and also thanks to songs like “cosa mi manchi a fare”, “Frosinone” and “Gaetano” which all count millions of visualizations on Youtube and other streaming portals. At the end of year 2017, Calcutta appeared again on screen with “Orgasmo” a new song that just hit the nail on the head. The song totalized more than 10 millions of stream on Youtube, Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and hit the chart up to number #5 on Spotify Chart and, for the first time, the song got into Top 50 of Airplay Chart of EarOne. In the beginning of February, the new single “Pesto” came out, and it further strengthened enthusiasm and expectations. In May 25th 2018, the new album is released. The title is “Evergreen” and it is anticipated by a third single “Paracetamolo”. A dazed-pop with a psychedelic aftertaste and a double active principle, who rapidly acts first with a guitar riff that sticks to your ears and then with a chorus “sento il cuore a mille” launched towards infinity. And then, there’s the LIVE performance. Only the ones who had the opportunity to watch him on action during a gig, have been able to taste with their own eyes, the magnetism of this musician who has gained unanimous approval among audiences all around Italy. Summer 2018 has signed his return on stage with two captivating dates in two different locations: the soccer stadium of his native city Stadio Francioni in Latina (July 21st) and Arena Of Verona (August 6th). Over 30thousands of people, counting sold-out in Verona. The live concert held in Verona has also become a concert movie played in over 150 movie theaters in Italy. “Calcutta Tutti in Piedi” is the title, distributed by Lucky Red, directed by Giorgio Testi, is a picture-story tell of that incredible night.
